PUTTING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

What does it mean to put on the armor of God? In part, it means you have taken a stand for God and His Christ.

You are declaring to the world, the flesh, and the devil, that you have joined the army of God and will defend the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Consequently, you have instantaneously placed a variance between you and all the beings that hate God and Christ. These beings that once controlled you, held your affection now HATE you. Make no mistake: while we travel through this world these beings will fight to get your affections back; by any means they so choose. We have turned away from the world that enslaved us; the prison chains that once held us have been cut off by God through Christ. Praise His Holy Name!

But Our Father knows the adversary-his lies and deceit. Our Father also knows our frailty; and knows we need a great deal of protection. So He tells us to first, put on the whole armor of God. It isnŐt going to do us one bit of good unless we put it on.

The Father is giving us something to put on to protect ourselves from the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Here the Apostle Paul has listed all the things we can not see with the human eye.

But the thing that we can see, that is all around us, is flesh. Not only our own but everyone elseŐs including the saints of the Most High.

The scriptures tell us: to know no man after the flesh. How can you do that? By putting on the whole armor of God.

In our text Eph.6:14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

Having your loins girt about with truth is having a true commitment to the ONE in which, righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His reins. Isa.59:17.

Wherefore, gird up the loins of your mind; be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Pet.1:13.

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Eph.6:15. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth

peace; that bringeth good tidings of good that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God Reigneth! Isa.52:7.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph.6:16.  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. I John.5:4.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph.6:17.

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thes.5:8&9.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Eph.6:18.

This Great Armor of God- covers and protects every part of our being.

The Father has given us the Helmet of Salvation: To put on our head. To protect our mind. It is our hope of salvation. ÉWe are being transformed by: the renewing of our mindÉ Rom.12:2.

The Breastplate of Righteousness: protects the heart of our inner man. And protects us from the flesh.

A Shield of Faith: That is able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Not some ALL! I once thought prayer was my greatest weapon; but itŐs Faith above all. Above all taking the shield of Faith. Faith in Christ is what gives the power to our prayers.

And The Sword of the Spirit-which is the word of God. For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit. Heb.4:12.

The Father gave all His armor to His Son. Which enables Christ to be victorious over all His foes. Therefore, every piece of armor has Great Power, not in the piece it self; but because of the ONE who wears it; the ONE who conquered death for every man.

Here is the whole armor of God- Christ Jesus our Lord. If you have put on Christ; you are wearing the whole armor of God. This armor equips us to fight the unseen as well as the flesh. The Captain of our souls in full armor; stands before us, fighting with us shouting  VICTORY AHEAD!

I know you brethren have put on the whole armor of God; and I also know there are a lot of dents from the battles already fought. But there are more battles to come; some maybe long and some extremely hard. So we must keep the armor of our God on; the fight isnŐt over yet. We must keep fighting the good fight of faith. And take courage from our Great Commander who is our surety. THERE IS VICTORY AHEAD!!!! Amen.
